Franz Mechanical & Engineering — Leading Light Finalist 2026

We're incredibly proud to share that Franz Mechanical & Engineering has been named a Finalist in the Small Enterprise Category at the 2026 Development West Coast Leading Light Business Excellence Awards.

What This Means to Us

Being recognised as a finalist is a huge honour for our small, family-owned team. Since Lachie and Hannah founded the business in 2018 — after the previous workshop in Franz Josef burned down — we've worked hard every single day to build something the community can rely on.

This recognition is a reflection of that hard work, and we couldn't be more grateful.

About the Awards

The Development West Coast Leading Light Business Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding businesses across the West Coast region. The Small Enterprise Category, sponsored by NZME, recognises businesses that demonstrate excellence, innovation, and a strong contribution to the local economy and community.

Thank You

A massive thank you to our loyal customers, the Franz Josef community, and our amazing team — Lachie, Hannah, Stan, Jono, and JC. None of this would be possible without your ongoing support.

We're proud to be your local workshop, and we'll keep working hard to deliver the quality service you deserve.
